This event is geared to provide
opportunities for faculty teaching online courses in
the science field to exchange teaching expertise and
to showcase interactive technologies that are being
used to engage students in meaningful learning
activities even though they are miles away from each
other. We are pleased that Dr. Mark Milliron will be
our keynote speaker.

Donna Weiss, Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA
earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Psychoeducational Processes from Temple University.
She is a member of the editorial board of the
American Journal of Occupational Therapy (AJOT).
After 10 years of service as Associate Dean for
Academic and Student Affairs in the College of
Health Professions, Dr. Weiss has returned to a full
time faculty position in the Department of
Occupational Therapy in order to focus her attention
on teaching, writing and facilitating the
implementation of an interdisciplinary PhD program.
She is currently collaborating on the second edition
of A Practitioner’s Guide to Clinical Occupational
Therapy and teaching courses in Group Dynamics,
Leadership and Outcomes Measurement and Analysis.

 ELIZABETH PFEIFFER
Temple
University Occupational Therapy Department
Dr. Pfeiffer earned a B.A. in
Psychology and Special Education from Arcadia
University, an M.S. in Occupational Therapy with a
specialization in pediatrics from Temple University,
and a Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy from Nova
Southeastern University. She is an associate
professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy
teaching pediatric courses and mentoring research in
the entry-level and post-professional occupational
therapy programs. Dr. Pfeiffer coordinates the
distance education post-professional programs in the
department, which currently include a Doctorate in
Occupational Therapy and Advanced Master Degrees,
along with Post-Professional Course Completion
Programs. She facilitated the development and
approval of the distance education DOT program and
the conversion of the Advanced Master and
Post-Professional Course Completion programs into
distance education formats.

SCHOFIELD
Temple
University Social Work Department
Rosalie Schofield has served as the BSW and MSW
Program Director at the School of Social Work (SSW)
at Temple University. She has worked as an analyst
at Medicaid, the Families USA Foundation, Blue
Cross, and the Social Security Administration and is
co-founder of several community institutions
including a foundation, a home for women with
HIV/AIDS, and an intergenerational housing project.
Former editor of an American Public Health
Association newsletter, she was also a Faculty
Fellow of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.
She is a site visitor for the Council on
Social Work Education and is creating an online
course in social innovation and social
entrepreneurialism for spring 2010. Rosalie has an
MSW in community organizing from Temple and a Ph.D.
from the Heller School at Brandeis.

Sheri Stahler is
Associate Vice President for Computer Services at
Temple University, based in Philadelphia, PA.
She has over 20 years of experience in managing
large-scale IT projects for Higher Education, and
was named one of the "Premier 100 IT Leaders" in
2006 by Computerworld Magazine. She is a
frequent presenter at Educause and other national IT
conferences. Sheri has a Master's Degree in
Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.

 Deanna
Schaffer
Drexel University
Deanna Schaffer is involved heavily in the specialty
area of Nursing Informatics. Deanna has 7 years of
clinical and didactic teaching experience. This
includes teaching at Drexel University in an adjunct
role for four years before joining the faculty
full-time. She is currently taking classes at
Widener University pursuing a PhD in Nursing
education. She plans to research the used of
technology to enhance student learning outcomes.
